I can work from any photograph, and can even manipulate photographs in Photoshop to improve the lighting, remove unwanted elements or to create a montage of different photos. Painting time takes anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the size and how complicated the image is. As we get close to completion, we can discuss framing options.

While many of the paintings below were done from photographs, there is nothing better than working from a live model. Although the sessions are hard on a model, being stationary for 30-60 minutes at a time, for up to 3-4 hours per session, there is a great deal of visual information that can be obtained that photographs lack. Below are some of the portraits I’ve done.
