One day the horse ran away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;How terrible,&#8221; sympathized the neighbors &#8220;What bad luck.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Maybe.&#8221; the farmer replied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A week later, the horse returned from the mountains leading five wild mares into the barn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;What wonderful luck!&#8221; said the neighbors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Maybe.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next day the son, trying to tame one of the horses, fell and broke his leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;How terrible, what bad luck!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Maybe.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later that week, the army came to all the farms to take young men \nfor war. During the battle that followed, many of the village men lost \ntheir lives.
