In September of this year I was hired to photograph the Biggest Loser 5K Run/Walk Race in Racine, Wisconsin. Unfortunately, as of December 10th, 2014, I have yet to be paid for this event.

The photography was handled by Wayne Bowring out of Connecticut, the outfit name is OzSportsPhoto www.ozsportsusa.com. In spite of repeated messages and a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, the only thing I’ve gotten so far is the run-around. I recommend that photographers avoid this guy. Regardless of how this turns out I guarantee I will not be working for them again.

When I got there expecting to shoot the race itself, I was told that I would be doing post-race candids. They scheduled my call time so that I arrived after the race had already begun. Once the race slowed down, I took over for the first photographer who was stationed at the finish line, and he left.

Not sure why they organized it that way, but they were lucky I came prepared with a shorter lens and a speedlight. This whole job was nothing but poor communication. Here are a few of the images I shot that morning.

Although it was raining lightly on and off, the people were having fun. I never saw the show, but I understand that the two hosts were celebrities from the program. This took place the day after I shot the Brewers Mini Marathon/10K Race at Miller Park in Milwaukee. I even saw a few of the runners from the previous day at this event.
