Abecedario – Basics, ABC’s
Alsa – To lift
Atapi – To trap
Buno – A grappling game involving joint locks, part of the empty-hand portion of Kali
Cadena de Mano – “Chain of the hands,” strikes that flow in a chain-like manner
Dumog – Grappling, the wrestling component of Kali, wrestling for a hit
Higda – Lying position, prone or supine, also Hega
Kamot – Hand
Katin-Katin – Squatting position
Kina Mutai – Biting and pinching, the dirty-fighting tactics of Kali
Kunci – Joint locking techniques
Lahod – Kneeling position, one or both knees
Lincod – Sitting position
Pananjakman – A low-line kicking system, including the types of kicks done while fighting with swords
Panantukan – Filipino Boxing, “way of many strikes,” a fighting system based on the use of the knife
Pangamut – “I fight with empty hands,” the empty-hand component of Kali, which includes Panantukan, Pananjakman, Sikaran, Dumog, Buno, and Kinamutai
Pung Ko – Sitting position
Sikaran – A kicking system in Kali
Suntikan – Boxing, the original name of Panantukan
Suntok – Punch

Interceptions
Dakip – To capture, hook
Dakop – To catch
Directa – Direct, a bouncing trap that strikes after intercepting the opponent’s strike
Dakot – To scoop
Gunting – To scissor, crossing or uncrossing methods of striking the limbs and intercepting strikes
Hampak – To roll (dissolve) and hit
Karasak – Specifically, a large shield
Pa’awas – To parry
Pagogi – A type of evasive movement, moving in and out of range
Panastas – A sliding check that also hits
Tabun – To shield or cover, a Tabun is a small round shield
Taming – To shield or cover, a Taming is a medium sized round shield
Waslik – To throw away, a scooping parry that throws the opponent’s limb
Hand Strikes
Bolo – A wide uppercut, sometimes delivered with the back of the fist
Ciko – Elbow strike, also spelled Siko, Secoh
Dungab – To strike with the fist, typically a punch or hammerfist
Ordabis – Backhand strike, typically a knifehand, hammerfist, or forearm strike
Sumgab – Finger jab, typically to the throat or eyes

Batiis – Shin
Sipa – Oblique kick, almost a stomp, almost a soccer kick, always used on a low line.
Sangot – Inverted Round Kick
Sikod – Push Kick
Tuhod – Knee strike
Yatuk – Stomp Kick
